Lawyer, lecturer, humanitarian and gender activist, Barr. Nari Wuniya Welye celebrated her birthday a few weeks ago (on Friday, June 21st) in a very unique way and it is worth commending.
She began the day with a worship session which she hosted at home with a few friends, The leadership of Galaxy band and G-Willz led the worship and prayer for an hour to show gratitude to God for keeping her thus far.
Later, In the company of her friends and colleagues, Nari Welye set out to launch the #BIGSISTERPROJECT in two schools (GSS Banjiram and HinJari girls school) both in Guyuk local government area of Adamawa State.
Nari has always seen education as a tool to help one navigate through all spheres of life whether it is business, politics, policymaking, agriculture or even sports, hence her specific interest in carving a niche to support and encourage young girls to start, stay and finish school and this inspired the big sister project.
In those schools, she distributed to school and sanitary materials for school going girls as she encouraged them to study hard and uses herself as an example they could closely relate with while allowing their minds to think without limitation of what they can achieve in the near future through education.
The day closed up nicely in the cool of the evening when her pastor Rev Mike Ochigbo (Founder of Freedom Power Chapel) and her parents prayed for her at the proposed site for her business (salon and scents outlet) registered as *June 21st*
She cut her beautiful birthday cake made by her staff and enjoyed snacks with family, friends, supporters, mentors, and protégés.
June 21st, 2019 is a day she will not forget in a hurry.
