Few days ago, the internet was inundated with reports that Africa’s multi-award winning singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, well known by his stage name, Davido, has bought a private jet – a story he confirmed – a media report has called out the DMW boss for conceding prominence to the acquisition.

Last week, the popular singer had announced the purchase, barely a week after he had acquired a Porsche as a birthday gift for his girlfriend, Chioma and did released a song dedicated to her, titled Assurance.

However, TheCapital reports that Davido’s stake in the private jet is actually a “fractional ownership”, adding that major financiers have chosen to play down their involvement to give Davido conceded prominence.
The move is said to be part of a business strategy to increase Davido’s profitability in the entertainment industry.

The arrangement, the report says, is ultimately aimed at attracting lucrative deals from multinational businesses, countries and other foreign entities.

The report reads,

“Our source has exclusively revealed that what Davido went on air to announce is actually “fractional ownership” in which his financial commitment in the arrangement is meagre while the major financiers have chosen to play down their involvement to give Davido conceded prominence.”

“According to our source, conceding prominence to Davido in the private jet ownership is part of a business deal to make Davido very bankable in the showbiz industry. This arrangement is to present Davido as a viable brand with a view to cornering lucrative deals from multinational businesses, countries and other foreign entities.”

“The guys at the vanguard of the jet ownership narrative are said to have agreed on a sharing formula with Davido when the deals start coming in. The jet upon delivery would be deployed to Davido’s peripatetic needs and those of others in need of it. TheCapital has exclusively obtained information revealing a good number of Nigerians on this membership plan but whom have been reported to be jet owners.”

The Assurance crooner who seems to be in a good mood took to Snapchat to react to the allegations.

He wrote: ““You no get money dem golaff u… u come get money dem go say u proud… naija which way na…”
